Queen Elizabeth II Reportedly Thinks Kate Middleton’s Skirts Are Too Short

Kate Middleton is a bona fide style star, but there’s one person who doesn’t approve of her fashions: her grandmother-in-law!

Queen Elizabeth II reportedly isn’t a fan of the skirts that the duchess has been sporting lately, claiming that they’re far too short.

The Mail on Sunday claims that the Queen has reviewed (and revised) Middleton’s wardrobe for her upcoming Australian tour.

The “subtle but significant regal makeover” will feature “lower hemlines” than what we’re used to seeing on the brunette beauty.

The paper added that Prince George‘s mother “will be encouraged to wear the tiaras favored by the Queen and Queen Mother,” and “statement jewelry and gemstones from the Queen’s personal collection.”

And considering that Prince William‘s wife has access to some of the most stunning royal regalia, it shouldn’t be a difficult feat to find a few things to wear on her trip.

So what’s the purpose of taking Middleton’s fashions up a notch during the three-and-a-half-week excursion?

To make her “more Royal than ever,” according to the publication.

Middleton’s favorite hair stylist Amanda Cook Tucker is also said to join her on Down Under.

And since the duchess will be ramping up her image, Tucker has been schooled (literally) in how to flawlessly attach a tiara. We wonder who taught that class…

But the queen isn’t the only one calling the shots here. It turns out that Middleton’s people have already approached two of her favorite designers, Alexander McQueen and Alice Temperley, about creating custom pieces for her journey.
